Eclipse season is in full swing & upon us & the autumn equinox (in the Southern Hemisphere) is imminent (on Wednesday this week).
The word equinox is from the Latin word “aequinoctium” meaning aequus (‘equal’) nox, noctis (night).
It is when the axis of the earth is tilted neither away nor towards the sun: the duration of day and night is exactly the same (12 hours either side of dawn & dusk).
It is reflective of the TRUE initiation of the “change” of seasons (or fall in light of day) as from here on the days will grow shorter until the winter equinox (June 21st).
Metaphysically, metaphorically and spiritually, it’s the end of summer and the harvest.
A time to honour your growth, your yield and fertile germinations to this point.
Spiritually we honour the intentions & goals you’ve set at earlier points in the cycle or reflect/revise your efforts culmination, progress & growth towards these goals.
It’s time to make space for the “what is coming” in the next chapter. For the manifestation & growth of the new things that need to be brought in or anything that is needing to be shifted in our time spent reflecting on our goals, growth & journey with the cycle of the seasons.
The fall leads to winter, which is a time for creative germination & fostering new insights & ideas that lead to a new fertile crop that incubates our next accumulation of the next chapter that will grow.
In order to nourish the cycle of the season we must take part in the “fall - winter” hibernation creativity concubine.
By intentionally focusing our creative energy inwardly we can nourish the womb of the divine feminine life force (especially if you work in the realm of Yesod).
We create a fertile bed of new ideas, that will sew seeds that will give birth to new ideas for the next sowing season.
For me personally, I often find seasonal depression to be challenging in the coming months so working my ceremonial Indo-European Wiccan tradition into the Autumn equinox.
By incorporating ancient cycles of the season is a helpful transpersonal metaphysical attribute to ward off any potential impact those symptoms of lacking daylight might induce in my emotion, affect or cognition.
